Efstathios (Stathis) K. Konstantinidis
Stathis Konstantinidis was born in 1969 in Alexandroupoli and is descended from Kleitos Kozanis. He is the son of Kostas and Areti Konstantinidis. He is married to Paschalina Mastrogiannopoulou, a lawyer, and they have two children.
Graduated from the Law School of Democritus University of Thrace. Holds a doctorate in Law from the Department of Criminal and Criminological Sciences of Democritus University of Thrace and produced a doctoral thesis entitled “Relevance in criminal proceedings”. He is a lawyer at the Supreme Court of Greece and has been practicing litigating law since 1996.
He was Administrator in the Social Care Unit “Agios Panteleimonas” from 2004 to 2007 and deputy Administrator in the 4th Health District of Macedonia and Thrace from 2007 to 2008.
He participated in the Management Committee of the childcare organization “Filoxenia”.
He served as Coordinator of Social Affairs in the Administrative Committee of the New Democracy.
He was elected as the first member of parliament in the R.U. Kozani in the national elections of July 2019, with the party of New Democracy and was similarly re-elected in the national elections of May 2023 and June 2023.
During his first parliamentary term, he was Secretary to the Standing Committee on Public Administration, Public Order and Justice, a member of the Special Permanent Committee on Greeks Abroad and the Special Permanent Committee on monitoring the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights. He also participated in Special Parliamentary Committees for the conduct a preliminary investigations. He served as vice-chairman of the communications privacy Investigation Committee. He took part in parliamentary missions in the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden and Uruguay on expatriate and immigration issues, while participating in corresponding transnational or international collaborations in Greece with foreign missions.
Since 27.6.2023 he has been Deputy Minister of the Interior, responsible for Macedonia and Thrace issues.
He is a blood donor. He is a member of the Association of Letters and Arts of Kozani and the Thracian Home of Eordaia.
